imap on yellowdoglinux 2.1

I'm having a hard time getting uw imap4 to run on my yellowdoglinux 
machine.
I can compile and install it fine.
But I can't configuring it for use with my dmail pop system.

With the default configuration I was able to login in with unix 
authentication but it started
to download all the contents of my home directory.  It's carzy!  Help!

imap: http://www.washington.edu/imap/
dmail: http://netwinsite.com/dmail_first.htm

Does anyone know how to configure imap for use with dmail???
