Yes - I had the same problem.  The only solution is to install a later ve=
rsion=20
of xmms - anything later than 2.6.x has fixed the endian byte swapping=20
problem that produces static/hiss on powerpc machines.  You can either bu=
ild=20
it from source yourself, or you can grab a later ppc rpm from another dis=
tro. =20
I used the one from mandrake.  As far as I know, the version in ydl 2.3 i=
s=20
still broken as well.
