kshkshhhsh sound under xmms ??

I have a similar problem with ROME: after startup there is this noise in the
speakers. It only disappears, when I launch Aumix and set the REC option to
Mute. In general I have to launch Aumix after rebooting even when REC is
already set to Mute. I conclude from this, that there is something wrong
with some sound config file, which is overwritten by Aumix for the current
session. Other than that it works for me with XMMS.
