PHP not connecting to MySQL while installing PostNuke

I find that odd.

Just a stupid question - are you using apt-get as root?

I was experiencing the same problem as you, also with phpnuke - and I couldn't get it to work no matter what.

Finally, I got it working with that command, only slightly modified.

#apt-get install apache php-mysql

And then:

#shutdown -r now

When it rebooted, and I reopened the phpnuke installation, it worked!

There has to be something else wrong... very odd.
