I've used this method to move from LinuxPPC2000Q4 to Mandrake to YDL
2.1, and it's worked perfectly well. Back up your /home partition first,
just in case, of course.

You may have to delete and recreate the bootloader partition as well --
I remember having some trouble with that, but it may have been due to
distribution incompatibilities.
