Problems installing 2.2 in a Power Macintosh 5500/275

I don't think you can boot from the CD on a PowerMac 5500. I have one here
(5500/225) and I had to boot to MacOS, install BootX, reboot choosing the
RAM disk and so on... if you need more info just reply I am glad to help.

incidentally BootX doesn't work on my PowerMac 5500 - I have to boot MacOS
holding shift (disabling extensions) then go to System Folder -
Preferences, find BootX settings, double click, and then I have the BootX
prompt which allows me to boot Linux.

I haven't even got Yellow Dog installed yet. Kernel oops when packages
begin installing, last call was to yi.
