IBM java works on glibc 2.2.5xxxx!

Folks;
        I'm totally bemused. Suddenly the IBM jdk seems to work for me:
I thought I'd tried the LD_ASSUME_KERNEL thing and failed
but  now it seems to work. Can't think of anything significant I've 
changed   :-\
Running YDL 2.2 on an smp G4, with

IBMJava2-SDK-1.3.1-0.0.ppc.rpm
 kernel 2.4.18-0.8a (smp)
glibc-2.2.5-0.19a

I have exported:

setenv LD_ASSUME_KERNEL  2.2.5

(this next is a feature to control the jit delay until compilation - 
play with it as you please....)

setenv IBM_MIXEDMODETHRESHOLD 10

I have no idea whether my recent kernel recompile did anything (seems 
improbable). I'll send
in a kernel  .config if folks ask.

Try your luck with these things set...
