So I totally screwed up my system this past week messing with Gentoo.. wo=
rd to=20
the wise, gentoo and powerbook G3's don't mix too well. That being said.=
=2E=20
here's where I am now:

I did a basic home/office install... then I uninstalled kde 2.2.2 and=20
installed kde 3.0 using rpm. =20

Being a huge fan of apt, I want to use it to install the rest of the stuf=
f I=20
want on this box....=20

But whenever I run apt-get I get this:

 apt-get check
Processing File Dependencies... Done
Reading Package Lists... Done
Building Dependency Tree... Done
You might want to run `apt-get -f install' to correct these.
Sorry, but the following packages have unmet dependencies:
  kdebase: Depends: /etc/X11/xdm/Xaccess but it is not installable
           Depends: /etc/X11/xdm/Xservers but it is not installable
           Depends: /etc/X11/xdm/Xwilling but it is not installable
           Depends: /etc/X11/xdm/Xsetup_0 but it is not installable
E: Unmet dependencies. Try using -f.

So if I follow the suggestions it gives and do an 'apt-get -f install' ap=
t=20
merrily informs me that it will uninstall all the kde 3 packages that I j=
ust=20
installed.... grrr...

Near as I can tell, there is some sort of a conflict with the XFree86-xdm=
=20
package, but I can't figure out what...

any suggestions?
