GUI Editor?

Glimmer is a GNOME editor that does color coding, auto indent, etc... If 
you're in the mood for something GUI.  

Really, there are as many editors as there are programming langauges I'd
suggest looking till you find one that you like.  vi, emacs, glimmer, joe,
etc.. Do a 'apt-cache search editor | less" for a complete list of editrs
in teh YDL distro, note that there are more at places like SourceForge and
Freshmeat.
