thanks, but i have only one problem. i have a 533dp g4, and i installed
the 2.4.19-4asmp-smp kernel that was suggested somewhere on the ydl
site. when doing the 'apt-get install kernel-headers-2.4.29-4asmp-smp'
or even '2.4.19-4asmp' i get a 'E: Couldn't find package
kernel-headers-2.4.19-4asmp-smp' response. i did startmol --list and
received this response:

---------------------------------
Installed modules:
---------------------------------
2.4.19-4a
---------------------------------
Running kernel: 2.4.19-4asmp-smp
---------------------------------
  -noav = No AltiVec
  -smp = Multiprocessor Kernel
---------------------------------

first, what is the -noav and -smp area referring to. i know i have a
smp system, but does this mean that it is not taking advantage of
Altivec...just a side question....moving on

i had done the 'apt-get update' command to ensure updated packages, but
to no ado. what needs to be done, do i need to change back to the
default kernel that came with ydl 2.3, and if so how. or is there a way
to get the smp kernels to work....are there other "better" smp kerenels
out there, maybe one with some benh mods or something.

much appreciation
