Yes, just press TAB in a terminal (it should beep). If it doesn't,
try lsmod and see whether dmasound_pmac is loaded. If it is not, try
to modprobe it--I seem to recall that I had to do it by hand once upon
a time. You should also have something like the following in
/etc/modules.conf and this should take care of the dmasound_pmac being
loaded properly.
alias sound-slot-0 dmasound_pmac
alias sound-slot-1 dmasound_pmac
alias sound-service-0-0 dmasound_pmac
alias sound-service-0-3 dmasound_pmac
alias sound-service-1-0 dmasound_pmac
alias sound-service-0-1 snd-seq-oss
alias sound-service-0-8 snd-seq-oss
alias sound-service-0-12 snd-pcm-oss
alias sound dmasound_pmac
The mixer controls were also broken in the combination of some YDL
precompiled kernel and my machine (rev III Tibook), but I believe it
was the stock YDL 2.2, not 2.3, so you should be fine.
Hope this helps,
Stefan

If it was so, it might be; and if it were so, it would be; but as
it isn't, it ain't. That's logic.
