apt-get woes

And it didn't work huh? Hmmm.. The rpms that its failing on, had you updated those on your own without using yup or apt-get?  Apt-get can only fix dependencies *perfectly* when the rpms come from the YDL repositoires because not everyone packages the rpms the same way.  Also try to do an 'apt-get -S dist-upgrade' this will give u the details of what file + version #s its going to try and update.
