installing apt-get under 2.1

If you ever find yourself trying to use the -F option think twice.  To upgrade is *always* -U. Usually if you have to use -F something is broken. [IMHO].  When I did what your trying to do i had less installed so therefor had less things dependent on rpm 4.0.2.  You may get bet better results by installing with co-dependents. ie 'rpm -Uvh rpm rpm-devel rpm-build rpm-python'.  So that rpm calculates everything at the same time. It made things alot easier.

IIRC librpm.so is part of rpm-devel. Notice even though u were trying to force rpm the devel package was going to mess things up.  Thats why installing things all at once help. [I think :-D]
