You'd have to get a new kernel that supported the new controller
(possibly means compiling a new kernel as I'm not sure whether YDL has
yet released a kernel for it), and install it before moving the disk.
There will also be issues with bootloader and /etc/fstab configuration
since moving a disk changes what device node it shows up at. (And
adding a "new" IDE bus that former kernels couldn't see will also
impact device node assignments.)

In other words, it can be done, but not without some effort to fix
things up.
