webmin

Has anybody had any luck install webmin on Yellowdog 2.3?  When I try 
to install from apt-get I get the following error message:

Unabled to identify operating system
error: execution of %pre scriptlet from webmin-0.970-1 failed, exit 
status 2
error:   install: %pre scriptlet failed (2), skipping webmin-0.970-1
E: Sub-process /bin/rpm returned an error code (1)

When I install from the tar.gz I get an error message in the File 
Manager applet "wrong magic number".  Has anybody had any luck install 
webmin on Yellowdog 2.3?
