snmpd crashes

Most likely, you've hit some kind of glitch in the SNMP code.
If you do
	# ps `cat /var/run/snmpd.pid`
every few seconds, is the daemon always in "R" state?

	http://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/net-snmp-users
You'll likely be encouraged to build the latest stable version and
try running that (I recall YDL snmp is a bit older).
