attempting to install yellowdog on unusual ppc platform

I'm trying to do a serial install of yellowdog 2.3 on an IBM spruce (750)
platform. I've gotten past several hurdles, but now I'm stuck.
The kernel boots and finds the yellowdog text-based ramdisk, but the init
process in the initrd is not starting the installer. Can someone tell me
which yellowdog package holds the source code for the init in
ramdisk-text.image.gz? Or better yet, can anyone give me a clue
as to what might be going wrong?

thanks,
galen
