Thanks for the replies guys. (oh, a rhyme!)

I've downloaded all the 3.1 source files and konstruct here at work and will
burn to a cd and take them home tonight!

BTW, is kio_mac now part of KDE? I couldn't get it to work for me on my
existing system. The HFS and HFS+ stuff is all there and working though, as
I can mount and read my HFS+ disk from the command line. But the HPCOPY
command doesn't seem to be able to copy more than one file at once either.

I haven't yet tried swapping the kernel either. BUT... I seem to have both
the default SMP and non smp kernel in the boot directory. Can I just change
the vmlinux symlink to point at the preferred kernel and reboot?

Sorry for my ignorance, but hey, I am a newbie! :)
