OSX partition died last night so it was the perfect time to try Yellow Dog!
Reloaded OSX 10.2.x and YDL 2.3 on a 40 Gb disk.
Everything seems to have gone just fine with the exception of the old Linux
Don't like my sound system issues. I have installed way too many Linux
distro's to be worried by this. I am using a non-standard Sony USB - SPIDF
dongle anyway.
First impressions, it runs great. I even ran Gnome with no issues!!! I had
to stop after about only 30 min's of playing around as
I-need-to-sleep-to-go-to-work-to-pay-the-bills, but everything I ran seems
to be just fine.
I am new to Apple MAC hardware and it looks like it will be fun to try to
get this box to be my DVD player. With its lack of fans, watching movies
will be fun. I will be using this box as a HTMAC (Home Theater MAC)
connected to a NEC LT-240 so if OSX can't do it Linux will.
