ext2 filesystem on CD?

I know you can make an ISO-9660 image for CD; is it possible to burn a CD in
ext2 filesystem? The reason being that Brian Bergstrand
<brian@classicalguitar.net> has released a Darwin implementation of ext2
(http://sourceforge.net/projects/ext2fsx/) and he has no way to test it. I
tried it myself, on MacOS X 10.2.4 and it did not work. After installation,
it failed to recognize my YDL partition and actually caused an additional
HFS partition to fail mounting. I sure wish YDL and Darwin were more
interoperable.
