Paolo,

did you run the commands (dmesg | tail or tail
/var/log/messages) directly after plugging in the
devices?

We have to know whether you have usb-storage and
printer support.

What is the version of your kernel? If you have the
/proc filesystem,
cat /proc/version
will tell you.

Also, run /sbn/lsmod and show the results.
