Enabling DRI on Dual USB iBook

Hello

I have a Dual USB iBook and have had no success enabling DRI on this 
laptop. I'm hoping that someone else will have solved a similar problem 
:)

I have enabled the "r128" module at boot and I have enabled the 
appropriate module entry in XF86Config-4 (Load "dri"). I have also 
ensured that mode settings allow all users to take advantage of the DRI 
module (through the use of a DRI Section at the bottom of the file).

Despite this, upon restart, glxinfo still reports "direct rendering: 
no".

Any ideas? Suggestions?
