as root, do the following:
cd /etc/
rm localtime
ln -s /usr/share/zoneinfo/America/Montreal localtime
rdate -s time.nrc.ca
clock -w
reboot
then try clock -r and clock -r --utc and see if they come up the same
(they do on my machine):
[root@mafalda etc]# /sbin/clock -r
Wed 29 Jan 2003 12:40:48 PM EST -0.042178 seconds
[root@mafalda etc]# /sbin/clock -r --utc
Wed 29 Jan 2003 12:40:52 PM EST -0.563314 seconds
