i know that on some macs (can't remember which), OSX needs to be in the
first 8gig of the drive. details are in the "hard drive upgrade" section
of www.xlr8yourmac.com. IIRC, most macs to which this applies originally
had hard drives <=8gig.

perhaps this is the same things with ydl3.0 ?
