PPC 5400 instalation

Hey. I am attempting to install yellow dog linux 3.0 onto a powerpc 
5400 (the beige ones with built in screens).

I have so far managed to get the boot loader to work and the 
instalation to begin (in text mode). I have no problems until i am 
asked where the yellowdog linux disk is.

The program does not recognize my cdrom. When yellow dog is booting 
however, i see a line recognizing the type and make of my cdrom drive.

I think the problem is that the cdrom drive is scsi while the HD is IDE

Any ideas?
