Graphical problems with YDL3.0 and a WGS 8550

Ok...  I patched up the system and it still fails.

I then proceeded to apt-get install all of the KDE files.  I tried KDE and
it worked like a charm.

Problem is that I really like Gnome....  so this is definately a Gnome
thing.  Any thoughts?
