postgresql-7.2.3-5.80 error

Well I use MySQL so it might be a little different - but ...

a parse error is pretty straightforward - you're typing something wrong 
- and the incorrect thing you typed is near the semi colon.  If you get 
strange results via PHP as well as a direct entry then it sounds like 
something simple like you're forgetting to close a quote or something 
like that.

If you want more useful help, you should perhaps post the actual line 
you're inserting ... but then again you might get even more help from 
an SQL list ...
