login anomalies after updating YDL 3.0

I also am running ADB:
 an Apple Extended Keyboard
 an Apple Desktop Bus Mouse
 an Calcomp UltraSlate graphics tablet

and I've had the same kind of problem with THE MOUSE,
but not with the keyboard. I was able to interrupt the
countdown, but had to reboot to get the mouse back.
