Which .config to make new kernel?

Since I am unable to make sound work with YDL 3.0 and KDE and arts/oss
sound, I thought I would try ALSA, instead. However, it seems I must
make a new kernel (without OSS). Unfortunately, there are several
.configs in /usr/src/linux-2.4/configs:

-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 24460 Mar 16 02:02 kernel-2.4.20-ppc-ans.config
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 22567 Mar 16 02:02 kernel-2.4.20-ppc-BOOT.config
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 22115 Mar 16 02:02 kernel-2.4.20-ppc-briq.config
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 28184 Mar 16 02:02 kernel-2.4.20-ppc.config
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 28241 Mar 16 02:02 kernel-2.4.20-ppc-smp.config

Would anyone know which of these is the correct one for making a kernel just
like the current one, but without OSS? 'uname -a' says "2.4.20-8d." But
there seems to be no .config by that name.

Thank you,
