Hi Mark,

I had a similar experience.

You might try to change configuration file of yum (/etc/yum.conf). I
changed the default servers from http://ftp.yellowdoglinux.com/pub/yellowdog
to
ftp://sunsite.cnlab-switch.ch/mirror/yellowdog
for two reasons:

1. sunsite.cnlab-switch.ch mirrors the yellowdog server, but is much
closer to my home location (Belgium)
2. (most importantly) my isp's proxy server doesn't allow me to directly
download from internet via http. I can only download via ftp.

HTH,

Geert
