try ALSA. For this, a new kernel is needed. To start from a

/usr/src/linux-2.4.20-sa/.config

What is wrong? I thought that, using the same sources and same .config,

I would get identical copies of the kernel and modules (identical to

those supplied with YDL 3.0.)
