Anaconda crashes / partition problems

Hi there,

I am trying to install YDL 3.0 on a beige G3 with a Sonnet G4 Upgrade and
have quite some problems. I tried several approaches:

      leave space unformatted before running the installer
      prepare two linux partitions before running the installer


But the installer always crashes when selecting either of the three
possibilities for partitioning (automatic, disk druid, pdisk).
I have read the lists and have noticed that other people are also fighting
with that issue. So far I could not figure out how to proceed.  Installing
YDL 2.3 was absolutely no problem on this machine. Any hints would be
highly appreciated.
