Hmm.. You say 'new Quicksilver' perhaps you really mean one of the new 
'Mirrored Drive Doors' macs with shiny CD doors and the extra holes in the 
front?  Or maybe it's just 'new to you' :)

If the the former go to 
http://www.yellowdoglinux.com/support/solutions/ydl_2.3/ata.shtml
and perform those steps as the current 2.3 distro does not support the 
Xserve style ATA100 drives.  These will probably be natively supported by 
YDL-3.0 or you can try installing using the Xserve ISO that's floating 
about though I'm not sure that will/won't work.

If the latter, I'm not sure.
