And I used to program Ericsson telephone exchanges by soldering straps 
onto blocks in Marker relay sets and soldering piano wire onto IDF 
strips.
But why program computers by crawling around inside them with a 
soldering iron when you can do it with a keyboard and mouse from a 
console?...
