RAM Disks in YDL 2.3

No. You don't want to get rid of it either as the /dev/shm ram disk is required 
although I cant remember what for off the top of my head. 

There is no need to worry about wasted memory either, as the ramdisk will only
consume memory as stuff is put into it and /dev/shm is usually empty.
