Yes, that's what I've found out by trial and error ... why 15-bit??
It would also be nice to get 24bit if I have a 4MB-onboardvideo in a
PPC7600, but it seems to me that the fbdev-module of XF4.2 (and 4.2.99,
I haven't tested the stable release 4.3 yet) just does 16bit-video ... ;

Are there any good news on third party video cards based on 
Mach 64GX w/ IBM RAMDAC? (bad news here:
