1. Bittorrent has an algorithm in that rewards those who help.  You can 
completely block upload if you want, and it will still let you download . . 
. Bittorrent download speeds increase over time based on how much you 
help.  For example when I used it to pull down the RedHat 9.0 images, I 
started at about 12K down, by the end I was getting about 180K down . . .

2. If you aren't offering web services, turn apache off by changing the 
runlevel script from an S script to a K script . . . if you aren't sure 
what I mean, email me . . .

That goes for most services, if you don't need it, turn it off . . .
