ydl 3.0 on ibook 800

there are three java ppc versions on blackdown.  the latest version: 
02c is not working with my ydl 3.0. But 02b works well so far.

for the airport, what I did is:

modprobe airport  network_name $network_name
iwconfig eth1 essid $network_name enc $key
/etc/rc.d/init.d/network stop
/etc/rc.d/init.d/network start

after that, I got:

Determining IP information for eth1... failed


the /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth1 is configured as:
DEVICE=eth1
BOOTPROTO=dhcp
ONBOOT=yes.
