Previously : >Immediately after "choose partition options" the installer aborts with : (snipped) I re-initialized the partition map from a MacOS 9.1 install Cd. This seems to have sorted the partition issue, and I have YDL 3.0 up and running :-) I can post 'before' and 'after' partition maps if it someone wants to examine the difference. best wishes Mark
