Kevin,
The install, configuration, and operation of OOo 1.1b2 was flawless on
my 2001 TiBook w/YDL 3.0. The import of my fonts was simple and without
any discernible error. I have been using the 1.1 betas on my PC at work
and was glad to see it now for PPC Linux. Thanks!!

Sometimes OOo can not find the correct fonts and that results in a poor
looking display. You can use the "spadmin" program that comes with OOo to
add fonts (use Windows or Unix .ttf files if you like) that OOo will then use
if you like. You can also enable font replacement to make the user interface
font become anti-aliased as RedHat/YDL3 has done for OOo 1.0.2.

BTW: If you are using YDL 3.0, I could use some testers for the OOo 1.1 Beta2
build I just placed on the YDL mirrors (check out ftp.yellowdoglinux.com or
one of its mirrors and look in software/openoffice/

Try grabbing and installing OOo_1.1Beta2_LinuxPPC_installer.tar.gz

It will only work properly on YDL 3.0 out of the box since I have moved my
main build machine to YDL 3 which has glibc-2.3.1. If you have an older YDL
2.X you will need to upgrade to glibc-2.3.2 before you will be able to use
it.

There is also the latest Blackdown version of the JDK 1.3.1 which should work
fine with a gcc-3.2.X compiled Mozilla and with OpenOffice.org.

Feedback on installation and testing welcomed. if all is well, OOo 1.1Beta2
will probably be announced early next week.
