Upgrading from YDL 2.3 to YDL 3.0

Hello there.
I am currently running a small web/mail server on YDL 2.3. It's running 
happily on a PowerMac 9500/120 and does the job. I've got the typical 
server programs installed like apache, MySQL, sendmail, etc., but no 
GUI (I don't need it and it just eats memory). How easy or difficult 
would it be to use yum/apt-get to upgrade everything to YDL 3.0. Is it 
worth it, since as I understand it most of the benefit of 3.0 is with 
the GUI interface and improvements on that end? What would I need to do 
to upgrade it in one fell swoop, rather than recompile newer versions 
of programs that I need upgraded (such as sendmail)? Any help is 
appreciated. Thanks.
