Boot hanging when updating /etc/fstab

Hello,

I'm installing YDL 3.0 on an OldWorld PPC clone (Power Computing), 
and the install went fine, but the boot hangs up when it gets to 
"Updating /etc/fstab".  I've seen this problem on the list before and 
I was wondering if anyone knew what was causing it.
