Double Vision - Just Curious

In preparation to reinstall YDL, I selected several folders from my hard
drive and typed CTRL-C. Then I typed CTRL-V at my Zip Disk window.  Two 
separate copy windows popped up, both copying to the same disk. The size
of the copying job was the same in both windows, but they were copying
to the Zip from different directories. I've been a Apple IIe to Jaguar
and DOS to Windows XP kinda guy who's finally getting serious about
learning Linux.  I've never seen anything like that before. Is this
normal or something aberrational?
