You have to use the nv driver. They are buggy but you get a working X11.
Here is my XF86Config:

Section "Device"
        # no known options
        Identifier "nVidia GeForce 5200"
        Driver "nv"
        VendorName "nVidia GeForce 5200"
        BoardName "nVidia GeForce 5200"

        #BusID
EndSection

Section "Screen"
        Identifier "Screen0"
        Device "nVidia GeForce 5200"
        Monitor "Monitor0"
        DefaultDepth 16

        Subsection "Display"
                Depth 16
                Modes "1024x768"
        EndSubsection

EndSection

Hope this help.

Regards,
Andrea
