I suppose you mean that you can't boot YDL. The first release of 10.2.8
resulted in YDL (2.4.20-8d kernel) shutting down the laptop (12" Powerbook
G4, 867Mhz) very early in the boot process. I reverted to OS X 10.2.6, but
that didn't solve the problem (presumably due to the OS X update having
changed the firmware). I subsequently fixed the problem by upgrading the
kernel to version 2.4.22. You can find the 2.4.22 kernel source at http://
kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/v2.4/linux-2.4.22.tar.bz2, and the 2.4.22-ben2
patch at http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/people/benh/
patch-2.4.22-ben2.bz2. Unpack both files into the same directory and type
"patch -p0 < patch-2.4.22-ben2." Then follow the instructions on building and
installing a new kernel at http://yellowdoglinux.com/support/solutions/
ydl_general/kernels.shtml. Incidentally, updating to release 6R73 of OS X
10.2.8 caused no problems with the 2.4.22 kernel installed.
