2.3 has been end-of-lif'ed by yellowdog, meaning they are not producing
any more updates for it. Your best alternative would be to set apt to
point at the 3.0 mirors and do a "apt-get upgrade; apt-get dist-upgrade".
this will get you current and get you a newer OopenOffice that is being
supported by YDL or a number of the other build out there.
Additionally, upgrading glibc is not fun, and is certianly not something
you really want to take on by hand without a good bit of knowledge. If
you're loath to upgrade to 3.0, you're better off trying to build
OpenOffice instead of glibc.
