Apple LCD 17" Studio Display LCD

Brian,
This is by way of FWIW, since my own prob's w vid display on iMac 17" 
LCD were diff from yours--I never had this prob of the display going off 
the edge of the screen. But my own resolution of the vid display prob 
seemed to depend on three changes to the /etc/X11/XF86Config file:
*Monitor section: Commented out the line:  Option    "DPMS"
*Monitor section: Added line:  Option    "FlatPanel"
*Device section: For "CrtcNumber" change "1" to "0"

I could send you a copy of my entire config file if you think it wd help.
