PPC 8500/150 running ?Newtech? G3 processor

Well, I finally got to installing it.

The OS is 8.1

I have a 9.2.1 CD. 

When I reboot and hold the 'c'. 

I get this error:

This startup disk will not work on this Macintosh
Model. Use the latest installer to update this disk
for this model.

So what do I do? Do I need to have OS 9.1? I
downloaded the 9.1 upgrade from apple.com but it did
not work.

This sucks. I thought Linux was supposed to be easy to
install. I used Red Hat and Caldera on old PCs and it
was like 'butta' to install.

I guess its the 8500/150 with 'old-world' cd setup
that sucks!

My wife has a MAC Wallstreet I'm eyeing. She says HAND
OFF!!!
