ISpell not working

Why is ISpell not orking for me?
I get the following message, and I don't really know how to fix or check =
it:

"ISpell could not be started

Please make sure you have ISpell properly configured and in your PATH.

Use setting->configure."


I know that with DOS and I can go into the old autoexec.bat file and edit=
 the=20
PATH, but I haven't a clue on how to do this with Linux, can someone prov=
ide=20
instructions?
