As far as I know, Yellow Dog Linux 3.x will not work on a Power Mac G5 
-- only on the G4s and below.

You will have to wait for the release of Yellow Dog Linux 4.0 for G5 
support (Terra Soft has been hinting that release will be within days 
rather than weeks).
